Boy Trees

Year 1

A little snapshot into the life of Year 1 so far. Birthdays was our first topic. This ended with a spectacular Halloween Party in class. The children were actively involved making invitations, cards, decorating balloons, learning party songs, dances as well as icing a cake and making jelly etc…

Since Halloween we’ve been looking at the different signs of autumn and how hedgehogs and squirrels survive. We brought this learning to life by visiting our local picnic wood area to go on a leaf hunt. This was both fun and engaging. The children loved learning outdoors and were both curious and creative making homes for the hedgehogs and toys for the fairies. Back in school we have been extremely busy reading about hedgehogs and squirrels and making our own little hedgehog homes.

All in all it has been a busy term full of magic and fond memories. The children have also embraced all the changes that have been taking place onsite too with a smile. Fingers crossed the fairies will send some of Santa’s Little Robins our way to so see how brilliant our Little Seedling’s from MQP are flourishing up here on the Cargan site.
