Year 3 have a Visit from an Architect

This term P3 are learning about Houses and Homes for their World Around Us theme.

They have been investigating how houses and buildings are designed and what materials are used in the building process.

Today we were lucky to have an architect, Ms Siobhán McGarry, visit us and explain her role. Siobhán explained how she uses a computer programme to draw plans for houses and the detail that must be included. The children were able to compare the actual plans of Siobhán's own house with photographs at the different stages of development.

If the questions and enthusiasm are anything to go by, we’ll have a class of architects in the future.
