Shared Education is an important part of our vision for Mary Queen of Peace PS and is included in our School Development Plan (the plan which helps us mange our curriculum, staff, finance, building, community relations priorities).

We have been working this term with Clough PS, on a cross-community project, based around creating an app to celebrate areas of interest in our local communities.  At the same time Y4 have also been working on an ICT:  Film & Animation project based around the theme of Friendship with Camphill PS, Ballymena.

The shared education project with Clough PS took place every Tuesday after school, alternating venues between the schools.  The project was entitled Trailblazers and was supported by Glenravel & District Community and Residents’ Association and Wheelworks.

The project finished with a celebration event in the Adair Arms, Ballymena.  Well done to everyone who took part and a special thank-you to our parents who supported us in great numbers; and Mrs McConway for all of her work in organising and managing the project.  The final technical adjustments are being made to the app and it will be available shortly.

Finally, we wish all the very best to our friends in Clough PS.  We have enjoyed working with the staff and pupils in our neighbouring school and we look forward to more partnerships in the future.
