Green Day Celebrations in MQP

We celebrated the holiday with our annual Green Day.
As well as dressing in green and enjoying Irish lessons with Oonagh Hegarty (Con Magee's GAC); we also had singing and dancing, with musical accompaniment from the local Comhaltas group (Donal O'Donnell and Kieran Dempsey). Dance, including traditional global dances, is an important part of our PE curriculum in Term II.
Music was provided by the school’s violinists who performed traditional tunes at the celebration (our thanks to their tutor Mrs Hickinson). In addition, the Primary 5 pupils, after a term of teaching with Éabha McMullan from the local Comhaltas, performed for the first time in public. Well done to everyone. There is so much talent in MQP.
Green Day is also a fundraiser for Trócaire, which included the annual Primary 6 Bun Sale (our one Lenten treat). Our thanks to Mrs McAlister, Christine and the Primary 6 Team. A total of £421.75 was raised on Green Day. We appreciate your support.
