Shared Education Day in Primary 5
11th April 2025
A fantastic day at Camphill Primary School. Our Shared Education meeting was filled with glorious sunshine, which added an extra sparkle to our activities.
We kicked off the day with three sessions. First up, Miss Simpson led a lovely art session where the creativity flowed! The children enthusiastically set to work, drawing beautiful spring images on hexagon shapes. These will come together to form a delightful collaborative art piece, showcasing the pupils' individual talents while building something wonderful as a group.
Next, we had a little science experiment with Miss McGurk. She showed the children a fascinating short experiment where they learned how to measure their pulse. It was educational and lots of fun as everyone recorded their resting pulse for one minute. Then, it was time to get moving! After completing a minute of exercise, they re-measured their pulse, discovering first-hand how physical activity affects our heart rate. It was a practical lesson in health and fitness that got us thinking.
To wrap up our day, Mr McCullough led us in a lively game of rounders. It was clear that everyone had a great fun while working as a team on the field.
Finally, we enjoyed some well-deserved time at the play park, soaking up the sun and playing together. As this was our last Shared Education day before Easter, it was the perfect day full of sunshine and smiles.
We are already looking forward to our trip to Cushendall after the Easter break.
