School Council: Reading in MQP

The School Council met with Mrs McKeown (Literacy Co-ordinator) to discuss reading in Mary Queen of Peace PS, from the children’s perspective.

It is important that we listen to our pupils and use their views to shape our reading programme.

We discussed attitudes to reading; the school’s reading programme -shared, guided and individual reading; Accelerated Reader, target setting and incentives; Irish themed books; and World Book Day.

Working together we will make our school a better place.
