Primary 3 Houses and Homes

This week, our Primary 3 children enjoyed a wonderful walk around Cargan village as part of our topic on Houses and Homes. The sun was shining and the children were full of excitement as they set off to explore the different types of homes in our community.

During the walk, we recognised a variety of houses including terraced homes, semi-detached houses, bungalows, and even some other types of buildings such as a Petrol Station, shop and Post Office. The children were fantastic at identifying a variety of things linked to our topic such as chimneys, a for sale sign, and we even spotted a house that had ducks in the garden! We also talked about materials used to build homes and how houses can look different depending on when they were built.

The walk helped bring our classroom learning to life and sparked lots of interesting questions and observations. We’re now looking forward to using what we saw to inspire our artwork, writing and model-making back in school.

The Primary 3 children even got to wear, for the first time, our new MQP high visibility vests, which helped us have a safe and enjoyable experience!
