Autism Training for Parents

Our School Development Plan (SDP) has identified Autism training as a school priority. We have invited Middletown Centre for Autism (the national centre for the design and delivery of training programmes for parents and educational professionals) to visit the area to provide training for parents and school staff.
Middletown Centre for Autism will provide training in the following areas:
- Autism and Social Communication
- Autism, Learning Style and the Impact of Visual Teaching Methods
- Autism and Sensory Processing
- Autism and the Promotion of Positive Behaviour
- Autism and Anxiety Management
in five weekly sessions, from 21 April – 19 May 2020. Please see the timetable below and the attached leaflet from Middletown Centre for Autism.
Places on the courses have to booked on line at https://www.middletownautism.com/ , click on the Training for Parents tab, register your details, select the five training sessions (it may be helpful to filter the courses by selecting the dates 21/04/2020 – 20/05/2020, select Co. Antrim in the county drop down).
We would like to extend an invitation to parents and carers to register for the training. If you know of parents or carers outside of the area who would like to attend the training, then you are very welcome to invite them to register for the programme. We want as many people as possible to benefit from the training, in our local community and in the wider area. There will be no charge for the training. Mary Queen of Peace Primary School’s role is to facilitate the training.
