Stitching Generations Club
11th April 2018
Our Y6 and 7 pupils have been working alongside members of Glenravel Crocheting Club to learn how to sew/crochet. The Stitching Generations Club is part of our After School Club programme for 2017-18 and very much part of Mary Queen of Peace Primary School’s vision for connecting our school to the Glenravel community.
The club has been part funded by All Ages April ’18, with the finances being used to provide a sewing hamper for the club to help the children learn some basic crocheting stiches from our experienced Crochet Club members. The combined work of the children and the Glenravel Crocheting Club will be displayed at Feis na nGleann Craft Competition, this summer.
Later in the term the PTA, led by Mrs McConway (VP) and our ICT Co-ordinator – Mrs Gormley, will work with senior members of the community in an iPad after school club. This work is being supported by a grant from Rathsherry Community Benefit Fund.
We wish our Busy Little Sewing Bees of the future all the very best and we are very grateful to the patient coaches in Glenravel Crocheting Club.
