Science Days for Y6

13th June 2017

Share:

Y6 have had a busy week with all their Science Technology Engineering and Mathematics work (STEM).

During Term III the children have been preparing, in their science classes, for a CSI Day in St. Killian’s College.  The STEM work has been very rewarding and has really made the children think.  Thinking Skills, including problem solving, are very important features of the primary curriculum.  The children will need to be able to think creatively and problem solve in their future careers and STEM subjects are an excellent way in which to develop these key skills.  It helps too that science can be fun – Bunsen burners are a real hit with Y6!

Earlier in the week the children visited St. Louis' GS and got a taste for post-primary school science, as well as a chance to view the school’s excellent facilities.

Thank-you to our partner post-primary schools and to our cross-community partners who joined us for the CSI Day.
