School Closed: Weather - Friday 24 January 2025

Emergency School Closure - Storm Éowyn

Due to anticipated severe weather conditions, all schools in Northern Ireland are required to close tomorrow, Friday 24 January 2025.

The Met Office has issued a red alert, which covers all of Northern Ireland, and will apply from 7 a.m. on Friday until 2 p.m. This warns of "very dangerous conditions" and "widespread disruption".

While we appreciate that this decision will impact on the work of schools, the more important issue is that we take action to avoid any potential risk to the safety of our children and young people and our colleagues across the sector.

Information from Mary Queen of Peace PS

1. Teacher will send the Friday Check-Up to you via Seesaw.
2. Parents should send a photo of the Friday Check Up back to the teacher, when complete.
3. Pupils have a book to read.
4. Pupils have worksheets.
