School Build Update

CCMS UPDATE STATEMENT
Significant progress has now been made in identifying a suitable site for the construction of a new primary school in Glenravel.
The scheme had been delayed because unfortunately the site next to the church, that was identified originally, was not feasible. The Department of Education therefore commissioned preliminary feasibility studies on alternative sites.
Early feedback suggests that at least one of these would be suitable and so the Department intends to commission more detailed investigations into this site. This marks a significant step forward in the project, however issues such as site purchase and planning permission are still required.
CCMS welcomes this positive news as the delivery of a new primary school remains our priority. Further updates will be provided as work progresses.
