On the final day of our Shared Education programme with Camphill's Primary 7 class, we were delighted to welcome Play it by Ear drama company, the PSNI, and Healthy Kidz to Mary Queen of Peace.

Transitioning to Secondary was the main focus of the day. The PSNI spoke to the pupils about anti-social behaviour and the correct etiquette when travelling on school buses and at the bus station. They also addressed the growing trend of vaping among young people, highlighting the associated risks and dangers aswell as the proper use of mobile phones.

The drama session explored the wide range of emotions pupils may experience when moving to "big school" and offered strategies for responding positively to these feelings. Darren from Healthy Kidz put the pupils through their paces with lots of physical activities offering a fun and active way to build confidence and teamwork.

It was another successful day, and we hope the pupils from both schools took a lot from the experience.
