Primary 5 visit the Ulster Museum
3rd February 2023
The Primary 5 pupils from Mary Queen of Peace and Camphill Primary School enjoyed a day of historical fun in the Ulster Museum in Belfast.
Throughout the day we got to explore a range of exhibits including Window On Our World, The Troubles and Beyond, Discover History and Early Peoples which included the incredible Takabuti exhibit where we got to see a real Egyptian Mummy and a mummified cat!
We enjoyed looking at and reading all about the artefacts and replicas on display. We also had the opportunity to dress up in customs and play with toys from different periods of history.
Mrs Baird at the museum, shared her incredible knowledge of Ancient Egyptian history with us. She also showed us artefacts that are more than 2000 years old. We had the opportunity to admire linen, lucky charms and canopic jars which have been lovingly preserved. We were also lucky enough to get to hold a special statue that was once inside an ancient tomb.
We are already looking forward to seeing our Camphill friends next Friday when they welcome us to their school for another day of fun learning.
