Primary 5 Shared Education Art Lessons

Primary 5 have taken part in three online zoom art lessons with art teach Sinead McDermott. Our friends in Camphill have also joined on the same zoom calls and we have thoroughly enjoyed these lessons.
In Term 1, we were inspired by artist Lucy Pittaway and were able to create a beautiful Winter Wonderland using cool tones.
In Term 2, we visited Cushendall Boat Club where we learned all about the work of RNLI and Red Bay Boats. Sinead was able to plan our next two sessions based on this.
Term 3 has been busy with two online art lessons. In lesson one we focused on the work of Kenneth King and took inspiration from his work to create a scene with a RNLI lifeboat out at sea and today, we studied the work of artist Paul Henry, able to draw and paint a beautiful, picturesque scene of Cushendall Bay.
The children are very proud of their masterpieces. We hope you enjoy the video below where you can see the pencil drawing process, adding vibrancy with oil pastels and finishing with some water colour painting.
