Primary 5 Shared Ed Reconnecting Day
21st February 2025

Primary 5 had a lovely day at Mary Queen of Peace, marking the exciting start of our Shared Education programme! We were so delighted to welcome our friends from Camphill Primary School, and even the drizzly weather couldn’t dampen our spirits!
Our day was packed with fun activities. First up, the children jumped into an amazing drama workshop with Chris from Play it by Ear. They learned some super cool drama techniques that sparked their creativity and made everyone giggle! It was a brilliant experience for all involved, and the laughter filled the room.
Next, we delved into making our Calm Capsules with Miss Simpson. Linking it to our joint theme of water, the pupils got to use water, oil and glitter in a bottle. They learnt that the oil and water don't mix because of the different densities. Pupils from both schools also discussed how when we feel overwhelmed, we can shake the bottle and use it as a way to help us feel calm.
To top off our fantastic day, everyone got to code Spheros! Working in threes, the children challenged each other to hit the bullseye. Everyone was so impressed at the teamwork when problem solving together! The children loved using ICT and we even got to practise our mental maths, adding up our scores.
All in all, it was a wonderful start to our Shared Education programme, and we can't wait to meet up again next week at Camphill Primary School for more fun!
