Primary 3 at the International Furnace Festival

Primary 3 joined the celebrations to mark this year’s International Furnace Festival (7-9 June 2024), which is being held in Glenravel.
Both Primary 3 classes took part in a workshop based on our local mining heritage and the role that iron ore has played in the history of Glenravel. Mrs Catherine Slack and A-Level students from Cullybackey College organised an art workshop in our Parish Hall based on the festival theme. The children made ceramic tealight holders, while exploring pattern and mark making, inspired by motifs from our mining past.
Thank you to Mrs Slack and the Cullybackey College students, as well as Tenth Glen Heritage Farms for arranging the workshop. Our pupils thoroughly enjoyed themselves.
