Play in the Foundation Stage
23rd February 2017
Enhancing Play in the Foundation Stage is one of Mary Queen of Peace’s aims for this year. We have been creative in our play both inside and outside of the classroom. In the Foundation Stage we want our children, through Play, to be actively involved in their learning and this undoubtedly helps to further develop their skills, knowledge and understanding in a fun, active and interesting way.
Benjamin Franklin once said, “Tell me and I forget, Show me and I remember, Involve me and I will understand.”
The photographs (below) from Foundation Stage Play, both inside and outside of the classroom, will show you how the children are enjoying Play and developing their skills in many of the areas of Play including: role play, outdoor play, writing, small world, sand play, water play and table top play.
Thank you to the PTA for their support (we could not have done it so quickly without you) and Sean Mc Keown (Little World) for the beautiful staging/reading area he has helped to create in Cargan. With your continued help we can provide exciting opportunities in Play for our youngest pupils at the Cargan campus.
