Pirate Day in Primary 2

20th June 2024

On Thursday 20 June fearsome pirates, swashbuckling sea captains, mesmerising mermaids and salty sea creatures crossed oceans, sea and land to meet in Cargan to celebrate Pirates’ Day.

They started the day with fun fishing in deep waters, playing in the golden sand, creating new lands to explore, drawing sea creatures, and enjoying pirate ship adventures. After a morning at play they called at port to enjoy a snack.

Then it was time to head off on an outdoor active adventure where our trusty coach, Captain Paul, led the crew on a journey over the seven seas, to invade different islands and steal the treasure. When everyone had loaded up with loot it was time to go fishing for the catch of the day.

Back on dry land the children enjoyed adding more treasure to their chest in a game of bingo, while others embarked on a treasure and pirate hunt. Would the crew be able to find the clues in time to find the hidden treasure?

Then it was down to the galley to join the Captain for a well earned lunch.

With the bountiful booty safely stored onboard the ship, the pirate crew and all our sea themed friends gathered on deck for a good old sing-along. There were sea shanties and shenanigans a plenty and a treat to end our day of pirate fun!
