New School Build: Communication Statement

Communication Information: Governors, Staff, Parents/Guardians, Pupils – 23rd February 2022.
The Consultants have progressed the agreed design of the new school in Martinstown (Dunaghy Road site) and have received Planning Approval following the Public Consultation events. The new bridge over Skerry Water at Carrycowan Court has also been agreed with design and build by the Department of Infrastructure.
A Stage 3 (Developed Design) has been approved by the Department of Education and the Consultant Team has commenced the Stage 4 (Technical Design).
The overall Project is currently paused at acquisition of site stage and the Design Team have revisited and are revaluating previously discarded site options to ensure that the reasons for their omission are still valid over time.
The Board will continue to meet online on a regular basis and further updates will be provided as the process progresses through the various design stages.
