New School Build: Communication Statement

Please see below a Communication Statement from the Department of Education and CCMS on the new school build:

Stage 2 (Concept Design) was approved by the Department in June 2019.  This has allowed Hamilton Architects, the Integrated Consultant Team, charged with designing the new build school situated on the Dunaghy Wood site, to start the planning application process.  As part of this, two public consultation events will take place on the 19 June and 18 September in St Mary’s Parish Centre between 7 pm and 9 pm.  This will allow members of the community to view the current design, ask questions and give feedback.  It is anticipated the planning application will be submitted in autumn 2019.  Work will also shortly commence on the Stage 3 design (Developed Design) and continue over the summer months.  Stage 3 culminates in a pre-tender estimate which, once approved by the Department, will allow the project to go out to tender to appoint a contractor to build the new school.
