MQP Girls do it again...Cumann na mBunscol Antrim 7-aside Cup Winners

Congratulations to our wonderful girls who won the South West Antrim Cumann na mBunscol 7-aside Gaelic Football Cup.
In the group games MQP had victories over St. Joseph’s (Crumlin), Moneynick PS, St. Colmcille’s PS and St. Comgall’s PS. As a result, of the team finishing top of their group and the girls qualified for the semi-final stages. In the semi-final the girls played Creggan PS. It was a close battle but the Glenravel girls' grit and will to win got them over the line. An extremely brave tackle, from a team player, saved a goal and allowed the girls to win and progress to the final. Unfortunately, this resulted in an injury and on behalf of everyone in MQP we wish our superhero a speedy recovery.
The girls then played Mt. St. Michael’s PS (Randalstown) in the final, the team they lost the indoor football final to earlier in the year. It was an extremely competitive game with exceptional play from both teams. At half time the two teams had 1 point each on the score board. In the second half the girls continued their high work rate and put in some outstanding tackles, to finish as cup winners on a score line of 1.1 to 0.3.
The work rate, determination and teamwork from all the girls today was so impressive. They are a credit to our school, to their families and to the parish. All of the girls should be proud of themselves. We certainly are.
