July Online Safety Newsletter - Info on the Social Media Ban

In this month's newsletter there is update information on the government's plan to block under-16s from using social media platforms such as Snapchat, TikTok, YouTube, Instagram, Facebook and X from next spring.
Restrictions will also apply to WhatsApp (from July 2026), where concerns include bullying, hurtful messages, rumours and exclusion in group chats. You should consider whether your child can recognise and manage such behaviour.
Additional rules will limit live streaming and contact with strangers for all under-18s, along with possible overnight curfews and limits on endless scrolling.
