On a lovely crisp February afternoon the Primary 5 pupils and Mrs Duffin, along with Neil and Marlene from Mid & East Antrim Borough Council began to transform the grounds around Mary Queen of Peace PS, Martinstown. Using recycled materials e.g. brush shafts, beams and plastic, in just two hours the children created two raised beds. The project included real life maths as the children had to estimate and measure the length and width of beams, distance between nails and the length of piping needed. Everyone enjoyed their experience and they can't wait until the 6th of March. Be amazed by the change from start to end. Yes, this was achieved in just 2 hours by our eco-warriors!
