Green Day
16th March 2022
St. Patrick’s Day celebrations returned to Mary Queen of Peace PS.
To mark the national holiday, the children dressed in green, making a £1 donation to Trócaire. Primary 6 also organised a Bun Sale (our one Lenten treat). Thank you Primary 6 and we will send the £400.55 raised to Trócaire.
Irish culture was celebrated throughout the day through dance, song, music and variety acts. Well done to the children who organised their own performances for the variety concerts. We have such talent in MQP. Each of the concerts finished with the Rattlin’ Bog, which is a tradition in our school.
Gaelic games also played an important part in the celebrations, with internal football tournaments. Thank-you to the School Council for organising the competitions.
Enjoy the photographs and the holiday.
