Mrs McConway and pupils from our school made a video presentation (as well as an appearance on stage!) at the Housing Executive’s Making an Impact 2018 Conference (Tullglass House, Ballymena).

The children were invited to the event to explain how they, along with Glenravel and District Community and Residents’ Association, made a big community impact in their local area.  In the previous school year the children worked with statutory bodies and the Glenravel and District Community and Residents’ Association to produce road safety banners.  The school also held a competition to give the children an opportunity to come up with a slogan  for a Hi-Viz Vest.  The winning slogan was Be Safe Be Seen and the Association paid for every child in the school to have their own Hi-Viz vest, with the winning slogan.

This year the children were invited to attend the conference to share their experience of working for their local community.  Our pupils have also been studying Film & Animation in ICT, so they used their technological skills to produce a video report of their work.

We are very proud of all of the children who were involved in the project and indebted to Marian (a prize winner herself on the day, congratulations!) and the Glenravel and District Community and Residents’ Association for everything they have done (grants, plants and much, much more) for MQP.
