Express Yourself

29th January 2021

Share:

From 1-7 February 2021 schools, youth groups, organisations and individuals across the the country will take part in Children’s Mental Health Week. This year’s theme is Express Yourself.

Expressing yourself is about finding ways to share feelings, thoughts or ideas, through creativity. This could be through art, music, writing and poetry, dance and drama, photography and film and doing activities that make you feel good.

It’s important to remember that being able to express yourself is not about being the best at something or putting on a performance for others. It is about finding a way to show who you are and how you see the world, that can help you feel good about yourself.

For Children's Mental Health Week 2021 we will be encouraging our children to explore the different ways we can express ourselves, and the creative ways that we can share our feelings, our thoughts and our ideas.

The message is still the same, in a world where you can be anything, BE KIND!

On top of this we have the launch of ‘Laughter Yoga’ on Monday from ‘The Sunshine Project’, our own whole school ’Well-being Wednesday’ initiative and to add some extra excitement on Wednesday we would also like you all to take part in our ’inside out’ activity as a way of making us stop and think. How someone looks on the outside doesn’t necessarily reflect how they are truly feeling on the inside, so it is important to always be kind and think of others. We would like you to take a photo and upload it to Seesaw or Google Classroom so we can share it with your friends.

BE KIND

IT'S OK NOT TO BE OK

NO ONE KNOWS HOW SOMEONE ELSE IS FEELING ON THE INSIDE

THINK OF OTHERS
