Egyptian Day in Primary 5

We stepped back to the Ancient Egyptian times today in Primary 5 and what a fun-filled day of learning we had! Everyone arrived at school dressed in full Egyptian outfits. We had some Pharaohs, gods, Cleopatras and we even had Howard Carter and Lord Carnarvon in our midst.

Throughout the day, the children made some clay cartouches; Tutankhamun’s death mask; became archaeologists and discovered artefacts in a tomb; used a range of construction materials to create pyramids; and we even created our own Egyptian jewellery. Thank you to all the parents for ensuring your child had a costume today. I think it is safe to say that everyone had a ball- including Mrs Duffin, Tara and Mr Conlon.
