Counting Copper Coins for Trócaire
11th April 2022
During the season of Lent, Mrs Hynds’ and Mrs Sharkey’s Primary 1 children visit all of the classes on a Monday, to collect copper coins for Trócaire. The Primary 1 children love visiting the classes, especially the trip to Martinstown on the bus. Every Monday morning the boys and girls in P2-7 are waiting on the infants, ready to drop their copper coins into the bucket. It is a tradition in our school and one we love.
At the start of Holy Week, the Primary 6 class went to Cargan to help the children play games with the coins before counting and bagging the money. A total of £440 was raised for Trócaire from copper coins alone. Well done everyone.
