Celebrating the Holy Month of the Rosary at Mary Queen of Peace Primary School
23rd October 2025

October is a special month in the Catholic calendar, dedicated to the Holy Rosary—a time for reflection, prayer, and drawing closer to Mary, the Mother of Jesus. At Mary Queen of Peace PS, we are embracing this sacred tradition by praying together and helping our pupils understand and appreciate the beauty and power of the Rosary.
Throughout the month, each class has been learning about the Joyful Mysteries of the Rosary, exploring their meaning and significance through storytelling, art and prayer. Pupils have had the opportunity to create their own Rosary beads; listen to biblical stories about the life of Jesus and Mary; and join in collective prayer sessions in our Parish Hall and classrooms.
We would like to take this opportunity to thank Father Paul Strain who kindly donated Rosary Beads to the school for the children to use when praying in their classrooms. Father also took the time to visit all the children in the school to pray the Rosary with them.
We are also encouraging families to continue this devotion at home, with prayer cards and resources sent home to support shared prayer time.
As we journey through this Holy Month, we are reminded of the importance of prayer, reflection, and community. The Rosary is not just a set of prayers—it is a pathway to peace, compassion and love. We are proud of our pupils for embracing this tradition with reverence and enthusiasm.
May Our Lady of the Rosary continue to guide and bless our school.
