Castles Day! What a fantastic day we have had!

A big thank you to all the Primary 2 children and parents for the wonderful effort you put into dressing up — the children looked amazing!

We learnt so much about castles over the past couple of months and this was a wonderful opportunity to bring that knowledge together in a fun and engaging way!

The children created beautiful stained-glass windows that will look lovely shining in the sunlight. They also made split-pin knights with moving parts, working on our fine motor skills.

Creativity was in full swing as everyone designed their own crowns, decorated with sparkling jewels and gems, and created shields featuring their own unique coat of arms.

We wrote some fantastic sentences inspired by fairytales — but first, we had to dig in the mud of our own motte and bailey castle to find our inspiration! I also found the mud surprisingly therapeutic!

We also enjoyed a lovely, sociable banquet-style lunch, complete with music and dancing, which added to the magical atmosphere of the day.

To finish, we had a small treat and watched the recent castle-themed animations the children created.

Thank you, Primary 2, for a wonderful and memorable day!
