April Online Safety - Group Chats
1st May 2026
Many of our children take part in group chats, whether through social media or online games such as Fortnite. While these can be a positive way to socialise, it’s important for parents and carers to be aware of the potential risks and to have ongoing conversations with your child about safe online communications. This month's Online Safety Newsletter provides guidance on how to ensure your child is safe when in group chats.
In addition to this information on Roblox new age-based accounts is provided. Next month Roblox will introduce two new age-based accounts: Roblox Kids for users ages 5 to 8 and Roblox Select for users ages 9 to 15. Roblox Kids Accounts (ages 5–8) will be limited to games with a ‘Minimal or Mild’ content maturity label and all communication is disabled by default. Roblox Select accounts (ages 9 to 15) will be limited to games with content maturity labels up to and including ‘Moderate’.
As part of parental controls you can manage content ratings.
