Accelerated Reader

We had our very first winner in the Accelerated Reader Lucky Dip competition.
Accelerated Reader is about making children read more – increasing their reading mileage. It is also about improving the children’s comprehension of their own reading. After each book a child has read, they go on-line to complete a reading quiz about their book. The children’s target is to get a minimum of 85% of the questions right about a book.
We have introduced the Accelerated Reader Lucky Dip Prize Bin to encourage the children to read for understanding. Every time a child gets 85% or more on a reading quiz their teacher signs a square on their prize page. When they have got ten squares completed they get a luck dip in the AR Prize Bin.
In the next couple of weeks there are going to be a large number of children ready to dip into the Prize Bin.
